🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 12–15 strands of saffron (kesar)
  • 2 tbsp warm water or milk (for soaking saffron)
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp rose water (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds & pistachios (optional, for garnish)

🔥 Instructions

  1. Prepare Sugar Syrup
    In a saucepan, combine water and sugar. Heat until the sugar dissolves completely and forms a light syrup.
  2. Infuse Saffron
    Add soaked saffron along with its liquid into the syrup. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to release color and aroma.
  3. Enhance Flavor
    Add cardamom powder and rose water. Mix well and turn off the heat.
  4. Cool & Store
    Allow the syrup to cool completely. Store in a clean glass bottle in the refrigerator.
  5. Serve the Sharbat
    Mix 2–3 tablespoons of the syrup in a glass of chilled water or milk. Stir well, add ice, and garnish with nuts and saffron strands.
