🛒 Ingredients

  • ½ cup semolina (suji/rava)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 10–12 strands of saffron (kesar)
  • 2 tbsp warm milk (for soaking saffron)
  • 3 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds & pistachios

🔥 Instructions

  1. Soak Saffron
    Add saffron strands to warm milk and let it release its rich color and aroma.
  2. Roast Semolina
    Heat ghee in a pan and roast semolina on low flame until it turns light golden and aromatic.
  3. Boil Liquid
    In a separate pan, bring water or milk to a boil.
  4. Cook Halwa
    Slowly add the hot liquid to roasted semolina while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Add Sweetness & Flavor
    Add sugar, saffron milk, and cardamom powder. Mix well and cook until the halwa thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
  6. Garnish & Serve
    Add chopped nuts, mix gently, and serve hot.
