🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 litre full-fat milk
  • ¼ cup basmati rice (washed & soaked for 20 minutes)
  • ¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 10–12 almonds (badam), sliced
  • 8–10 strands of saffron (kesar)
  • 2 tbsp warm milk (for soaking saffron)
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp  chopped pistachios (optional, for garnish)

  • Preparation: 10 minutes
  • Cooking: 35–40 minutes
  • Total Time: ~50 minutes

🔥 Instructions

  1. Soak Saffron
    Add saffron strands to warm milk and let it release its rich color and aroma.
  2. Boil Milk
    In a heavy-bottom pan, bring the milk to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Cook Rice
    Add soaked rice to the milk and cook on low flame. Stir continuously until the rice becomes soft and the milk thickens.
  4. Add Flavor & Texture
    Mix in sugar, sliced almonds, and saffron milk. Stir well and cook for another 5–7 minutes.
  5. Enhance Aroma
    Add cardamom powder and mix gently.
  6. Garnish & Serve
    Garnish with pistachios and a few saffron strands. Serve warm or chilled as per preference.

Serve chilled in elegant bowls, garnished with saffron strands and nuts for a luxurious dessert experience.
