🛒 Ingredients
- 1 litre full-fat milk
- ¼ cup basmati rice (washed & soaked for 20 minutes)
- ¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 10–12 almonds (badam), sliced
- 8–10 strands of saffron (kesar)
- 2 tbsp warm milk (for soaking saffron)
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp chopped pistachios (optional, for garnish)

Soak Saffron
Add saffron strands to warm milk and let it release its rich color and aroma. -
Boil Milk
In a heavy-bottom pan, bring the milk to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. -
Cook Rice
Add soaked rice to the milk and cook on low flame. Stir continuously until the rice becomes soft and the milk thickens. -
Add Flavor & Texture
Mix in sugar, sliced almonds, and saffron milk. Stir well and cook for another 5–7 minutes. -
Enhance Aroma
Add cardamom powder and mix gently. -
Garnish & Serve
Garnish with pistachios and a few saffron strands. Serve warm or chilled as per preference.
